You will be picked up at the place of your choice in Auckland by our luxury mini-coach and enjoy a
scenic drive through the Waikato heartland to the place where history was made for New Zealand’s
motion picture industry.
The set has been completely rebuilt for The Hobbit and will remain as it was seen in the film and The
Lord of the Rings film trilogy. During your tour you will see Hobbit Holes, The Mill, double arched bridge
and other structures and gardens built especially for these films.
As part of your exclusive tour you will be invited to relax at the Inn of the Hobbits, The Green Dragon™
Inn .
You will walk the paths of Hobbiton like a local, step inside this amazing building and be immediately
transported to Middle Earth.
Masterfully recreated, the interior of the inn is an exact reproduction of that which featured in the Lord of
the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies.
The Green Dragon™ Inn first featured in The Lord of the Rings film trilogy as the local meeting place for
all the residents of Hobbiton. It was the perfect place to satisfy their thirst, enjoy a meal and gossip about
the comings and goings of The Shire.
The Inn also makes an appearance in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.
All the interior scenes for the films were shot in studios in Wellington, but now that same interior has
been faithfully recreated at Hobbiton Movie Set.
All guests at The Green Dragon™ receive one complimentary refreshment from the exclusively crafted
Southfarthing™ range, traditionally brewed and served from the barrels.
The Inn also offers traditional Hobbit fare, including the famous beef and ale pie, from a blackboard
menu at very reasonable prices.
